In mid-August, Ron Thomlinson emailed IU President John J. Flynn
on behalf of his father, retired 63-year
Ontario member John Thomlinson,
to update the IU’s contact information
for his father and to ensure he
received the Journal. After receiving
confirmation that President Flynn
and his office had followed up, Flynn
received the following message:
To President Flynn:
This is not intended to clutter
up your inbox but…my Dad is
so happy with the attention from
your office he asked me to write to
thank you! It was only a couple of
weeks ago that this communication
started and you have already
completely resolved his concerns.
Not only did he receive the current
Journal, [but also] your shipment
of the copies he missed and the
tee shirt. Dad called me and in
his words “I’m just so very very
very happy.”
It has been a long time since
Dad has expressed that type of
emotion... Thank You!
