BAC Applauds the Biden-Harris Administration

Biden-Harris team delivers on strong worker protections and advancements

[Washington, D.C] The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers issued the following statement in response to President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris announcement of 2024 election candidacy.

It was no coincidence that President Biden’s first public address after announcing his candidacy for 2024 was to the thousands of delegates of the North American Building Trades Union (NABTU) Legislative Conference on April 25. “I make no apologies for being labeled the most pro-union President in American history. I’m proud of it,” he said. “I have said many times: Wall Street didn’t build America. The middle class built America, and unions built the middle class.”

The legislative achievements of this Administration over the last two years have had a direct and positive impact for BAC members, both active and retired. His appointments to the Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board have shifted their focus from helping big business to protecting the workers these agencies are charged with.

“When it comes to support for working Americans and their unions, President Biden doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk,” said BAC President Tim Driscoll. “We congratulate the Biden-Harris team on their announcement and look forward to working with them to strengthen workers voices across our country.”
