BAC Urges Normalizing US - Canada Trade Relations
Washington, DC – President of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) Timothy J. Driscoll issued the following statement:
The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) strongly condemns trade barriers between the United States and Canada, urging leaders to immediately lift these harmful tariffs.
For 145 years, BAC has united American and Canadian trowel trades workers. A trade war only serves to hurt working families on both sides of the border. Our economies and our workers are deeply intertwined. These extraordinary tariffs drive up costs, threaten jobs, and divide our cross-border community. We need cooperation, not economic barriers.
BAC calls for a prompt end to the tariffs and a renewed commitment to the shared partnership that has driven North American prosperity for generations.
